This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal information when you visit this website or submit an enquiry about a claim. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by J&R MARKETING LIMITED trading as Claims247.co.uk (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10025657. Our registered office address is C/O Perception Accounting Limited, The Cobalt Building, 1600 Eureka Park, Lower Pemberton, Ashford, Kent, England, TN25 4BF.
We are the data controller of the personal information collected through this website.
2. The information we collect
We collect the following information:
- Information you give us. When you complete our enquiry form we collect your name, mobile number and email address, together with your answers about your accident (whether you were involved in an accident, whether it was your fault, whether your vehicle is drivable, and whether you need a replacement vehicle).
- Technical information. When you submit the form we record your IP address, the country your request came from, and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these to help prevent fraud and abuse of the service.
- Marketing attribution. If you arrive at the site from an advert or campaign link, we store the campaign parameters from that first visit (such as UTM tags and advertising click identifiers like Google’s GCLID) in a first-party cookie so we know which advertising brought you to us.
- Calls. If you call us, the phone number displayed on this site may be a tracking number that records that the call came from this website and, where applicable, the advert that led to your visit.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and contact you about your potential claim;
- pass your details to a carefully selected claims handling / accident management partner who can assist with your claim, roadside recovery or a replacement vehicle;
- send internal notifications so our team can act on your enquiry promptly;
- measure and improve the performance of our website and advertising;
- prevent fraud, spam and misuse of our forms; and
- comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
Our lawful bases for this processing are:
- Consent — you choose to submit your details to be contacted about your claim, and (where required) you consent to advertising and analytics cookies;
- Legitimate interests — operating and promoting our business, measuring our advertising, and protecting our website from fraud and abuse; and
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
4. Who we share your information with
We may share your information with:
- Claims handling and accident management partners — the purpose of this website is to introduce you to a partner who can handle your claim, so we pass your enquiry details to them so they can contact you;
- Service providers who help us run the website — for example our hosting provider, database provider and email delivery provider — acting on our instructions under contract;
- Google — where you have consented (or where consent is not required), we share conversion data with Google Ads and Google Analytics so we can measure our advertising. Where a lead results in a claim we may upload that outcome to Google Ads as an offline conversion; any email address or phone number included in such an upload is first irreversibly hashed (SHA-256); and
- Authorities — where we are required to do so by law, regulation or court order.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- _attrib — a first-party cookie recording the campaign parameters of your first visit (first-touch attribution). Kept for 30 days.
- cookie_consent — records your cookie choice where a consent banner is shown. Kept for 6 months.
- _cc_country — a technical cookie holding the country your visit was resolved to, used only to decide whether the consent banner should be shown.
- Advertising and analytics cookies (Google Analytics / Google Ads) — used to measure how visitors use the site and how our adverts perform. For visitors in regions where consent is required, these are only set if you accept them via the banner; until then Google’s tags run in cookieless “consent mode”.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry records for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and to meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations — normally no longer than 6 years from the date of your enquiry. Attribution cookies expire after 30 days and consent records after 6 months, as described above.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers (for example hosting, analytics and advertising providers) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or an adequacy decision covering the destination.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing of your information;
- receive your information in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is the basis on which we process your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Security
Your information is transmitted to us over an encrypted connection and stored securely with access limited to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date.
